Aloe Vera can promote healthier skin. Contains allantoin, a natural sunscreen that blocks up to 30% of the sun’s rays.  Researchers report that aloe can hydrate through three epidermal layers of the skin when used topically. Aloe provides an attractive, refreshed and healthy look while reducing the appearance of damaged skin. Cools and soothes skin after prolonged sun exposure.

Almond Oil This oil has also been proven to have a calming effect on people with skin allergies and inflammation. It has both the ability to soothe as well as treat skin allergies. Minor wounds, chapped skin, and other skin infections can also be treated using almond oil. Emollient properties refer to the ability of the almond oil to get absorbed into skin. It is also used in many spas for its less fragrant and less greasy qualities. It is useful in massages as it restores the normal PH of the skin and allows the skin to glow.

Apricot Kernel Seed Oil is a light and gentle moisturizer for skin. Choose apricot kernel oil to balance oily and hormone-reactive skin. The light texture of apricot kernel oil makes it useful in face serums, or mixtures of oils used to moisturize the face.  Though apricot kernel oil is most useful for oily complexions, it is gentle enough to use on any skin type.

Arnica Montana applied to skin or used in a soothing foot bath has been known to be beneficial in reducing the inflammation and pain caused by muscle sprains and strains. It is also believed to be able to regenerate tissue and is used for treatment of injuries. Arnica is used to promote wound healing from minor cuts, bites and burns. Often used following an accident or shock, believed to be beneficial in treatment of illness of the circulatory system. Do not use Arnica on an open, bleeding wound.

Beeswax combined with other ingredients adds body to skin care products thus making creams thicker. Like other beehive products, including honey and royal jelly, beeswax offers anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral benefits and for treating minor skin irritations.

Borax also known as sodium borate is a naturally occurring mineral and a salt of boric acid. Powdered borax is white, consisting of soft colorless crystals that dissolve easily in water. Borax has a wide variety of uses. It is a component of many cosmetics, an anti-fungal compound, a texturing agent in cooking, a precursor for other boron compounds. It is also used to make buffering solutions in biochemistry.

Calendula is used topically for treating acne, reducing inflammation, soothing irritated tissue, is an anti-tumor agent, and is a remedy for healing wounds. Limited evidence indicates calendula cream or ointment is effective in preventing dermatitis and is helpful in treating radiation dermatitis.

Cannabinoids are naturally occurring constituents of the Cannabis plant. The most notable for topical applications are CBD, THC and THCA. These particular constituents, either alone or in combination with one another, have been known to promote cell regeneration, act as an anti-cell proliferative, have anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-spasmodic, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.

Cinnamon Leaf oil is warm and stimulating with strong anti-inflammatory properties. The oil is considered an analgesic, antiseptic, antibiotic and astringent remedy. It has also been used to treat infections, arthritis and general aches and pains. Cinnamon leaf oil is known to boost mood and awaken the senses.

Cinnamon Bark is an anti-inflammatory substance alleviating stiffness of the muscles and joints. Cinnamon is also recommended for arthritis and a well-known aid in removing headaches caused by colds. Due to its very powerful antiseptic properties, Cinnamon Bark is good for fighting any infectious diseases. It also eases muscular and joint pains associated with rheumatism and arthritis. Full strength applications may irritate the skin and mucus membranes.

Citronella is one of the essential oils obtained from the leaves and stems of different species of Lemon grass. Citronella oil has strong anti-fungal properties and has been registered as an insect repellent in the United States since 1948.

Cocoa Butter is high in antioxidants, which help fight off free radicals. Free radicals cause skin stress and signs of aging. Cocoa butter is high in fatty acids therefore hydrating the skin deeply and helping heal scars. Cocoa butter is widely noted to help reduce stretch marks. Many women claim regular use of cocoa butter keep stretch marks away during pregnancy.

Coconut Oil is excellent massage oil. It acts as a safe, effective moisturizer on all types of skin, including dry, troubled skin. Coconut oil helps in treating various skin problems including psoriasis, dermatitis, eczema and other skin infections. Coconut oil also helps in preventing premature aging and degeneration of skin cells due to its well-known antioxidant properties. For this reason, coconut oil forms the base ingredient of various body care products like soaps, lotions, and creams that are used for skin care. People also say it has helps heal scars.

Grapeseed Oil contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, both of which are great for stopping acne. The oil also contains linoleic acid, which is great for promoting skin health. Grapeseed oil has astringent qualities that help tighten skin and close pores, thus helping avoid clogged skin that leads to pimples, benefiting oily skin. Dark circles are a problem for many adults, Grapeseed oil, applied daily for a few weeks, can relieve these dark circles naturally. This very light oil can be used by those with sensitive skin and works as an excellent moisturizer that won’t clog pores. The oil can also help hasten healing of minor abrasions or pimples. Hazelnut Oil has been called the “pore-reducing” oil and “acne-fighting” oil because of its unique properties. A high content of catechins and tannins (healthy flavonoids) make this oil a “dry” or “astringent” oil that feels smooth and toning on the skin. The astringent properties help absorb oils and shrink pores, while the antibacterial components go to work battling skin bacteria to help reduce blackheads and pimples.

Hempseed Oil is 80% polyunsaturated fat, rich in essential fatty acids Omega’s 6 and 3, the perfect balance that humans need for optimal cellular performance, also rich in amino acids and multiple vitamins. It is a rare source of steariodonic acid. It is a great non-clogging oil that helps to reduce the size of pores, blackheads and acne. It protects the skin from free radicals and provides the body with essential nutrients required to maintain epidermal lipids, skin’s water barrier, elasticity and softness. In addition, Hempseed oil has anti-inflammatory benefits, reduces redness and is recommended for the treatment of psoriasis and eczema. Hempseed oil is an effective carrier oil helping to transport the healing properties of other botanicals into the lower layers of the skin.

Jojoba provides all day moisture—it doesn’t evaporate like water-based moisturizers. It is theorized, but not yet proven, that because Jojoba oil is so similar to human skin oil, it can “trick” the skin into thinking it has produced enough oil and thus oil production stabilizes. Jojoba oil does not become rancid or lose antioxidants even after long periods of storage. Spreads and absorbs well.

Kokum Butter naturally nourishes the skin and is used to treat dry lips, chapped hands and soles of the feet, protecting against signs of aging that speed up during exposure to the sun. Kokum butter also contains antioxidants and vitamin E and exhibits excellent emollient properties with high oxidative stability, which can assist emulsion integrity.

Olive Oil has a long history of being used as a home remedy for skincare. Egyptians used it alongside beeswax as a cleanser, moisturizer, and antibacterial agent since Pharaonic times. In ancient Greece, the substance was used during massage to prevent sports injuries, relieve muscle fatigue, and eliminate lactic acid buildup. In 2000, Japan was the top importer of olive oil in Asia because consumers there believe both the ingestion and topical application of olive oil to be good for skin and health.

Peppermint blends with most other essential oils such as eucalyptus, rosemary, lemon, marjoram and can be used for steam bath, massages and mud packs. It contains menthol that nourishes dull skin and boosts the texture of oily skin. This oil is great at keeping your pimples at bay and your face blemish-free.

Pink Grapefruit has anti-oxidants that will fight free radicals in the skin which can cause lines, wrinkles, discolorations and other blemishes that can make you look older than you are.  Grapefruit cleansers and toners help to reduce the affects of oily skin. Aromatherapy of pink grapefruit is stimulating and invigorating.

Vegetable Glycerin or glycerol is a clear, odorless liquid produced from plant oil, typically palm, soy, or coconut oil. It has a number of valuable applications that include cosmetic products, foods, and a replacement for alcohol in herbal and botanical tinctures. Vegetable glycerin is a humectant, a substance that attracts moisture to the skin, leaving your skin hydrated. Humectants also increase the solubility of active ingredients making them more easily absorbed by the skin. These qualities make it ideal for topical remedy applications.

Vitamin E Oil is an antioxidant, can be applied topically and will interact directly with the skin cells, neutralizing free radicals in the skin and preventing many signs of aging as well as skin cancer risks. Free radicals are elements that float throughout the body and skin because they aren’t attached to anything. Antioxidants also flow throughout the body and skin, binding to these free radicals, rendering them harmless. As an oil, vitamin E can also help improve skin hydration. Some evidence points to the use of vitamin E to speed up cellular regeneration in the skin, which can help the healing process for scars and acne.

Walnut Oil has been recommended to fight wrinkles since the seventeenth century. Used topically, it is a rich, non-greasy moisturizer.

Witch Hazel is an astringent anti-inflammatory compound, produced from the leaves and bark of the North American Witch hazel shrub. Witch hazel is mainly used externally on hemorrhoids, minor bleeding, and skin irritation. As a hydrosol, it is used in skin care as an astringent and anti-oxidant.

This formulation begins with a lotion base containing 89% organic ingredients. It is suitable for all skin types. It contains organic, certified coconut, apricot kernel, sunflower oils and shea nut butter. It’s enriched with moisturizing aloe vera. It has a light velvety texture that leaves the skin feeling silky.

Organic Sunflower Seed Oil is the non-volatile oil pressed from the seeds of the sunflower. Sunflower oil is commonly used in cosmetic formulations as an emollient. The oil contains appreciable quantities of vitamin E. and also contains lecithin, carotenoids and waxes.

Cetearyl Alcohol is fatty alcohol that is a mixture of gentle cetyl and stearyl alcohols. It’s used as an emollient, texture enhancer and carrying agent for other ingredients. Can be derived naturally, as in coconut fatty alcohol, or made synthetically. Cosmetic products labeled “alcohol free” are allowed to contain cetearyl alcohol, whose effects are quite different from skin-aggravating forms of alcohol.  Fatty alcohols like cetearyl alcohol do not pose a risk of sensitizing skin.

Coco-Glucoside is a natural, non-ionic, surfactant. It is ultra mild, and one of the most gentle of the cleansing agents, making it ideal for all foaming and cleansing products, especially those designed for fragile or sensitive skin. Our Coco-Glucoside is obtained from renewable raw materials and is a combination of coconut-based fatty alcohols and glucose. Coco-Glucoside, being ultra mild and gentle, does not dry the skin which makes it an excellent choice for the formulation of body and skin care products.

Xanthan Gum is an excellent, sugar-based, natural thickener for emulsions and cleansing systems. It is a polysaccharide produced through a bio-fermentation process of Xanthamonas campestris and sucrose or glucose. This results in a powder that readily swells water to enhance stability and viscosity, to be used in small amounts. Because Xanthan Gum creates a gel with water, it offers a smooth glide to creams and lotions and improves their stability, even acting as an emulsifier, to some degree. Xanthan Gum used in face and body wash products will thicken efficiently without jeopardizing the foam.

Phenoxyethanol is a glycol ether used as a antiseptic, solvent, preservative and anesthetic. It is an ether alcohol with aromatic properties that is both naturally found and manufactured. Exhibiting antimicrobial, germicidal and germistatic properties, phenoxyethanol acts as an effective preservative in cosmetics.

Citric Acid is an alpha hydroxy acid used in personal care products to adjust the acidity or promote skin peeling and re-growth in the case of anti-aging products. Citric acid is a weak organic acid naturally found in citric fruits and juices, providing the characteristic acidic taste.  

Lactic Acid is one of the most popular alpha hydroxy acids in skin care today, marketed as a powerful ingredient that may exfoliate your skin, help reduce acne breakouts and the appearance of wrinkles and other signs of aging. It is an organic compound, in solid state it is white and water-soluble, and in liquid state it is colorless. It is produced both naturally and synthetically. 

Benzoic Acid is a colorless crystalline solid and a simple aromatic carboxylic acid. Benzoic acid occurs naturally in many plants and serves as an intermediate in the biosynthesis of many secondary metabolites. Benzoic acid helps prevent infection caused by bacteria.

Dehydroacetic Acid is an organic compound. It is a tasteless, odorless white powder, almost insoluble in water and moderately soluble in most organic solvents. It is used in the formulation of a wide variety of products including bath, skin care, suntan, sunscreen, fragrance, shaving, hair and nail care products, as well as eye and facial makeup. Dehydroacetic Acid kill microorganisms and prevent their growth and reproduction, thus protecting cosmetics and personal care products from spoilage. In amounts of 0.6% or less where it’s proven to be safe and effective.
